  • Behavioural Finance Factors Influencing Stock Market Participation

    Open Access•William William•ARTICLE•Integrated Journal for Research…•2025

Stock-market participation is shaped not only by income and access but by behavioural factors — financial literacy, risk perception, overconfidence, herding, loss aversion and social norms — that determine whether households and individuals enter or avoid equity markets. Using empirical findings from India (surveys, market data and behavioural studies) and global behavioural-finance theory, this paper examines how these psychological and social d…

John Florio was unusually cosmopolitan. 1 He was born in London around 1552 to an unidentified Italian or French mother and the Florentine reformed minister and language tutor, Michelangelo Florio. Michelangelo had come to the Protestant haven of Edward VI's England just two years earlier after escaping execution at the hands of the Inquisition in Rome. At the restoration of Roman Catholicism following Mary I's ascension to the throne in 1554, ho…

  • Relationship between spermatogenesis, DNA fragmentation index, and teratozoospermia index

Open Access•Joice Marlina Budiharto, Ria Margiana et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of Health…•2022

Infertility has proven a global medical issue, with 15-20 percent of married worldwide experiencing difficulties in conceiving. One of the causes of male infertility is sperm morphology abnormalities, or teratozoospermia, which is often associated with sperm DNA damage. Teratozoospermia can increase sperm DNA fragmentation through several mechanisms, including abortive apoptosis and induce ROS formation. Unfortunately, many forms of sperm flaws, …

  • Land Use and Population in the Area North of Karak

    William William, Fidelity Lancaster•ARTICLE•Levant•1995

This paper attempts to reappraise the history of land use in north Karak from the early Ottoman period to the present day in terms of the criteria of local inhabitants. This information is complemented by ethnographic and historical material from the wider region. Such an approach, it is hoped, provides a more satisfactory explanation of the dynamics of changing land use than the traditional ‘decline’, and opens up possible new directions for fut…

    Alison Betts, S W Helms et al.•ARTICLE•Levant•1991

The second preliminary report on work in the Burquc/Ruweishid region of eastern Jordan presents an account of results achieved in the 1989 field season. Excavations were carried out at seven sites. These include several late prehistoric camps near Qasr Burquc and a late Chalcolithic/EB IA rock shelter to the south. Two specialist reports present data on the survey of Qasr Burquc and the ‘lake’ (Helms), and the modern population (Lancaster and Lan…

  • Limitations on Sheep and Goat Herding in the Eastern Badia of Jordan

    William William, Fidelity Lancaster•ARTICLE•Levant•1991

Recent archaeological evidence suggests that ovicaprid pastoralism was practised in the eastern badia (arid steppe) of Jordan during Late Neolithic times. The badia encompasses two distinct areas, the harra which is relatively mountainous and variably covered with black basalt boulders and the hamad which is open, gravelly country. The hamad in the recent past has supported camel pastoralism rather than sheep and goat herding populations. We exam…

The apparent plateau of the second year is a site of intensive language-learning, which is not reflected in the growth of vocabulary or mean len…
