Domestic Research Agenda for Education in Africa
本稿の目的は, 教育社会学の研究視角から, 主に学校教育と社会の関係性についての主要な議論を概観し, 国内におけるアフリカの教育研究傾向からその課題を明らかにすることである。本稿では, 学校教育全般を介して形成される知識を「学校知」として便宜的に定義している。はじめに, アフリカ諸国が独立した1960年代以降を中心に, 国際的な教育協力の思潮を理論とともに紹介し, 国内の教育協力やアフリカ教育研究に及ぼした影響についてふれる。次に, 学校教育と社会の関係性において, 特に前者への批判的研究にふれ, 学校教育制度の課題を提示する。その後, 今日的な見方として, 社会における学校と学校化される社会において, アフリカの教育研究に必要な研究視角を述べる。これまでの国内における研究が, 国際的な教育協力の動向や政策に偏重してきたことは否めない。ゆえに, 教育政策を批判的に検証することはあっても, 学校教育制度自体は無批判に受容してきた。しかし, 果たしてその視角がアフリカの子どもの理解につながっ…
