Exploring the Mediating Role of Resilience in the Relationship Between Self-Efficacy and Self-Esteem in Adolescent Secondary School Students
During the school years many contextual and academic scenarios demand students to mobilise their coping abilities to overcome them without undermining their emotional wellbeing. During the teenage years, these situations play a primary role in their personal and academic development and in their transition to adulthood. This study aims to analyse the relationship between self-esteem and self-efficacy and the possible mediating role of resilience …
The Mediating Role of Academic Goal Orientations in the Relationship Between Empathy and Subjective Happiness in Adolescent Students
The subjective wellbeing of students is a key aspect of their personal and academic development, especially during adolescence, a period in which numerous variables that shape personality and academic performance converge. This study aims to analyse the relationship between empathy and subjective happiness and the possible mediating role of goal orientations (achievement and ego) in secondary school students. The study comprised 1,664 participant…
The influence of gender on the relationship between emotional intelligence and psychological well-being in Spanish university students

The results also emphasise the importance of teaching emotional intelligence as a way to improve levels of well-being, irrespective of sex, although sex-related differences need to be examined more in depth in order to gain a better understanding of the…

Satisfaction with life, affects, and subjective happiness in military personnel
Background Satisfaction with life, affects, and subjective happiness in military personnel are significantly correlated, as the experience of positive emotions, such as pride and camaraderie, often improves both satisfaction with life and the perception of happiness. On the other hand, negative effects, such as stress and anxiety, derived from deployment in high-risk environments, can bring down these indicators of well-being. Adaptability and re…
Emotional wellbeing in teachers
Wellbeing is determined by happiness and both positive and negative affects. These constructs are, in turn, related to emotional intelligence and play an important role in individual behaviour. This study examined the relationship between happiness, emotional intelligence, and positive and negative affects in a sample of 344 (121 men 35.17 % and 223 women 64.83 %) trainee teachers, with an average age of 22.36 years. Happiness and affects yielded…
Emotional Education as Coping Strategy for Exhaustion and Dysfunctional Eating Habits
Work shifts affect eating habits, social relationships in the workplace, and, more broadly, the physical and mental health of health professionals. The aim of this research was to differentiate BMI, eating behavior, and burnout between shift and non-shift nurses. The study involved 194 nurses (63% of whom work shifts and 37% of whom do not) who completed sociodemographic questionnaires, eating behavior questionnaires, and an exhaustion inventory …
