Cultural Validity of the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2 Empirical Correlates

This article critically reviews empirical correlates of the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2 (MMPI-2; Butcher, Dahlstrom, Graham, Tellegen, & Kaemmer, 1989), based on several validation studies conducted with different racial, ethnic, and cultural groups, and argues for the urgent development of culturally derived measures that would illuminate culturally relevant empirical correlates for use in validating the MMPI-2.Este artículo examina críticamente correlatos empíricos del Test de Personalidad Multifásico de Minnesota-2 (MMPI-2, por sus siglas en inglés), basándose en varios estudios de validación conducidos con distintos grupos raciales, étnicos y culturales, y razona a favor del desarrollo urgente de medidas derivadas culturalmente que puedan ilustrar correlatos empíricos culturalmente relevantes para su uso en la validación del MMPI-2
