    이 연구는 마한 엘리트들의 위세품인 카넬리안(마노) 구슬의 원거리 교역 네트워크를 추정하고 운영 배경과 사회정치적 의미를 살피는 데 그 목적이 있다. 최근 조사 사례가 급증한 남아시아 및 동남아시아의 석제 구슬 제작 전통을 살펴보고 마한 카넬리안 구슬의 제작 기법과 비교 검토하였다. 마한 카넬리안 구슬의 원산지를 명확히 하기 위해, 천공 크기에 대한 계량 분석과 천공 내부를 본뜬 실리콘 샘플에 대한 주사전자현미경(SEM) 분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과는 카넬리안 구슬 상당수가 남아시아에서 인도 다이아몬드 천공기술을 사용하여 제작된 후, 마한 사회에 수입되었음을 나타낸다. 잠정적으로, 필자는 중국 남부 합포군의 항구나 도시에서 남아시아의 카넬리안 구슬을 구입하였을 가능성이 크다고 판단한다. 또한, 마한의 교역 집단들이 동남아시아 태국의 카오 샘 케오, 베트남의 옥 에오, 캄보디아의 앙코르 보레이 …

    본 논문에서는 삼포천유역 고분의 변천양상을 통해 마한 정치체의 성장과 변동과정을 살펴보았다. 제형분 단계에는 삼포천유역의 정치체가 마한 소국으로 성장하는 과정에서 제형분으로 정형화되고, 기존 목관(곽)묘를 대체하여 새로운 묘제인 옹관묘를 사용하면서 정체성을 극대화하였다. 이는 남해만을 통한 선진문물의 수용과 교류 등의 상호관계가 활발하였고, 방형분·원형분 출현은 삼포천유역의 마한세력이 성장하는 과정에서 보이는 과도기적 모습으로 이해된다. 고총고분 단계에 반남면 일대는 마한의 대수장으로 성장하여 마한의 토착적인 정체성(옹관묘)이 강하였고, 시종면 일대는 중심지가 반남면 일대로 옮긴 이후에도 남해만을 이용해 다양한 선진문물의 수용과 변이를 통해서 쌍무덤처럼 지속적으로 성장하였다. 한편 옹관묘에서는 소옹 주변에 대호를 부장하는 음식공헌의례가 일반화되는 정체성을 극대화하였다. 이렇듯 마한 정치체가 외부…

    취락의 입지선택은 여러 요소를 동시에 고려해야 하는 매우 복합적인 결정이 요구된다. 청동기시대 취락양상이 그런‘복합적인 결정행위’의 소산이 아니라고 할 고고학자는 없을 것이다. 이렇듯, 청동기시대 취락에 대한 고고학의 접근은 해당 문제가 복합적이니만큼, 다각·다차원적이어야 할 것이다. 본고는 세종특별자치시 경내 청동기시대 취락의 변천에 관련된 문제를 세 차원 또는 수준에서 다루어보고자 한다. 81개 지점에서 조기부터 후기에 이르는 청동기시대 (단위)취락이 확인되지만 대부분이 전기와 중기에 속해 변천상에 대한 설명은 그 두 시기에 집중된다. 점유표면분석, 순위-규모분석, 입지—고도 및 하천으로부터의 거리—분석, 토양분포분석 등 몇 가지 분석의 결과, 광역적 취락분포유형, 생계자원 생산전략, 가구군 형성, 가구의 생산양상 등에서 변화를 인지할 수 있다. 그런데 그러한 변화는 호서지역 전-중기 전이과…

    팽이형토기문화의 묘제로는 묘역식지석묘, 탁자식지석묘, 개석식 지석묘, 석관묘 등이 있는데, 이 무덤들에서 출토된 유물들은 주거지 출토의 것과 대부분 대응된다. 팽이형토기문화의 무덤을 획기하는데 가장 최적의 유물은 부장 빈도와 완형 출토 사례가 많은 석촉이다. 석촉과 시대성과 단계성이 분명한 유물 조합 관계를 고려할 때, 팽이형토기문화 주거군은 도합 6개 단계로 획기되고, 무덤군은 도합 5개 단계로 획기된다. 대응 관계는 주거군 제I단계, 주거군 제II단계 후반-무덤 제I단계, 주거군 제III단계-무덤 제II단계, 주거군 제IV단계-무덤 제III단계, 주거군 제V단계-무덤 제IV단계, 무덤 제V단계이다. 팽이형토기문화의 무덤은 주거군 제II단계에 간헐적으로 석관묘가 조성되다, II단계 후반에 요동 지석묘에서 거석(상석)의 아이디어를 채용하여 긴동형 묘역식지석묘가 출현한다. 묘역식지석묘는 처음에는 …

    관인의 신분을 상징하는 당식 대장식구는 2021년 12월 현재 646式을 상회한다. 이에 대한 검토는 신라 지방사회를 고고학적으로 살피는 데 매우 유효하다. 이를 염두에 두고 삼국통일을 전후하여 새로 이 신라의 영역에 편입된 현재의 경기·충청지역의 분포 정형을 살필 필요가 있으며, 이 지역은 통일신라기 한주·웅주에 해당된다. 중고기에는 중국과의 교섭을 통해 역심엽형 대장식구와 구분되는 소위 황룡사형 대장식구가 일부 지방에 이입되나, 그 수량은 많지 않다. 또한 국원소경이 설치된 충주 일대의 자료로 보아 일정기간 역심엽형 대장식구와 공존한다. 신라의 삼국통일 이후 당식 대장식구는 지방 전역으로 확산된다. 재질은 대부분 청동이며, 옻칠을 부가하는 등의 가시적 차별성을 두어 소유자의 위계를 구분하였다. 또한 새로이 조성되는 고분군 내 석곽묘에서 출토되는 사례가 상대적으로 많아서, 이를 소유하던 계층은…

    본고에서는 춘천 중도동유적에 조성된 돌대문토기 단계 주거구조와 유물에 대한 분석작업을 통해 단계설정을 하고, 단계별 주거군 배치 및 취락규모 등의 변천양상에 대해 살펴보았다. 중도동유적 돌대문토기 단계에 해당하는 주거지는 모두 76동이다. 방형은 46동, 장방형 26동, 세장방형 4동이다. 주거지는 중(대)형의 장(방)형 주거지 평면에 석상(위석식)노가 설치된 형태(I유형)와 소형의 방형 평면에 무시설식노가 설치된 형태(II유형)로 구분된다. 주거지는 중·대형 장방형 평면에 내부에는 석상(위석식) 노 단독, 석상위석식 노 2개와 석상위석식 노와 무시설식 노 2개의 복수로 설치된 세대공동체의 공동거주형과 소형 방형의 무시설식 노가 1개가 설치된 단독거주형 주거지로 구분된다. 주거지 단계설정은 돌대문토기를 중심으로 한 토기류와 주거구조, 방사성탄소연대자료를 중심으로 3단계로 설정하였다. 중도동유적 …
