What’s the Difference

Life is unfolding, it starts here.A cared for child born out of wedlock in 1940.Unhappily fostered at 10 and registered blind at 46.Now totally blind.An 82 year old widower, living alone independently.From 2008 to her passing in 2017 cared for my wonderful wife Maura, who was living with Parkinsons and Dementia.Have 2 registered blind sons.Engage in raising awareness, challenging the injustice that denies equal access to services by people who are marginalised.Active in several organisations making a difference in people's lives.These include, 2 Universities, BASW, Shaping Our Lives and Sandwell Visually Impaired.The poem 'What's the difference', addresses difference.What's the difference.Are we happy ourselves never mind the other?Would it help, If we made the effort to know the other, Worth a try, Would that help us be happier ourselves?Are empathy and compassion in our domain?Or are they bereft of meaning, When injustice to another doesn't cause us pain
