Current interest in quantitative research necessitates a basic understanding of statistics training and attitudes towards statistics. In addition, workers were asked to identify eight common statistical symbols. Results indicated that while practitioners view statistics as moderately valuable, their knowledge of statistics is minimal. Implications of these results and suggestions for improving this situation are offered
