T\HE FACULTY of the State Teachers College at Minot, North Dakota, I recently completed and put into effect a plan for assigning academic ranks to its members. The project was initiated through a directive from the president of the college, Dr. Carl C. Swain. Other institutions in the state have made inquiries about the plan, and it seems not unlikely that others may find it of interest. This account is essentially a report of a faculty project, its objectives, the plan to carry it out, and finally evaluatory comments
