A Geometric amphora of the Attic-Cydadic belly type coming from the Eleftherna cemetery, decorated with three bands of concentric circles on the belly, offers an opportunity to discuss the problems of typology and provenance posed by this characteristic class of vases in the light of recent research. Amphoras of this type, having two or three bands of concentric circles, always follow the Attic style, but while the Attic origin of the amphoras with two bands has never been in question, that of the amphoras with three bands, which are widely distributed in the Aegean world and particularly the Cyclades, is ascribed sometimes to Attica and sometimes to the Cyclades. This study attempts to revise the typology ofthe belly amphora with concentric circles and discusses in detail the dass of amphoras with three bands
