Colombia is one of the regions in Latin America where the black population is large, nevertheless studies on Africa and the diaspora are limited. The University del Valle (Univalle), located in Santiago de Cali, the second city with the largest Afro-descendant population in Latin America, is a vivid example of this. Within this framework of ideas, I intend to reveal the presence and relevance assigned to black African themes and writers in in the training of Graduates in Social Sciences of the at Univalle. To do so, I start with a qualitative approach, in which I do interviews with students and graduates and do reviews of course plans. By the way of concludung, I propose that in the Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences there is a invisibilization of the black Africans. That is to say, there is little presence of texts and topics on Africa and blacks, and when they are made visible, they appear without capacity for agency, only as victims of European colonialism
