This article explores noteworthy parallels between the distinctive brand of masculinity exhibited by the television character Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens (played by Timothy Olyphant), Justified's (law)man in the cattleman hat, and the 1950s man in the gray flannel suit. It articulates the numerous ways by which this 21st-century lawman's conduct in various domains of his personal and professional lives represents a throwback to the hegemonic masculinity of an earlier historical era
