Cisnormativity is overvalued in schools. Trans and non-binary students are frequently targeted for bullying and victimization. The aim of this study is to summarize research on narratives of trans* young people in schools. Based on the question “what do trans* young people feel and say about their place in school?’”, a scoping review was conducted with nine articles published between 2019 and 2025. The results highlight experiences of bullying, sexual violence and racism, school environments of discrimination and marginalization, where sex education, when it exists, is inadequate. Among other measures, it is recommended to recognize the gender identity and expression of trans and non-binary young people, create safe spaces in schools and invest in training the school community
