The purpose of the present study was to validate the C lassroom C limate I nventory ( CCI ) in K orean middle schools. Specifically, we investigated whether the original eight‐factor structure of the J apanese version of the CCI ( I nvolvement, A ffiliation, F riction, S atisfaction, S elf‐disclosure, T ask O rientation, O rder, and E quity) is appropriate for K orean middle schools. The results indicated that the K orean version of the CCI showed a different factor structure from the J apanese CCI . In the cross‐culturally validated CCI , the F riction factor included in the J apanese version was divided into two factors (i.e., H armony and C onflict), and E quity was excluded. The final model of the K orean CCI displayed acceptable goodness‐of‐fit indices, which indicated that it is a valid instrument by which to measure the classroom climate of K orean middle schools. Lastly, implications for future research and limitations are discussed
