Jin-Ah Kim, in discussing the question of musical relationships West–East, critically considers the notions of ‘entanglement,’ ‘shared history,’ or ‘histoire croisée.’ Her narration of the musical history of Korea in its own diversity leads to a wide-ranging conclusion, which emphasises the need to understand history ‘from the inside’ of cultures and these cultures themselves as ‘processes’ rather than fixed constellations
