„Underachievement of Boys in Schools“ This contribution focuses on the underachievement of boys in schools on the basis of international studies such as PISA. One perspective of underachievement is to regard boys as not being encouraged enough in contrast to girls within the school system. The author critically discusses the phenomenon of underachievement in the German school system. Thus, on basis of various studies the author analyses whether there are typical structures for underachievement of boys or girls and which factors are accelerating underachievement of both boys and girls
