Relational transactional analysis is a fairly new term, but in education and learning theory its antecedents are long and influential. Connections between experiential learning theory and eight principles of relational transactional analysis are explored to identify the latter’s place in the educational field and ask what educational transactional analysis can contribute to the further development of the relational approach. The original version of this article appeared in January 2012 in Actualité en Analyse Transactionelle (No. 141) with the title “L’A.T. Relatioannelle dans l’éducation et les processus d’apprentissage; Invitation à l’exploration.” It is published here, revised and updated, with the kind permission of the Institut Française d’Analyse Transactionnelle (IFAT)
