The Lembaga Dakwah Islam Indonesia (LDII) activities are deeply rooted in theological and philosophical norms and values, including its philanthropic movement oriented towards communal well-being. This study ontologically analyzes the theological-philosophical basis of LDII’s philanthropic movement, and axiologically explores its implications for society. A qualitative design with a phenomenology approach was employed, involving 12 informants selected through purposive sampling. The obtained data were analysed using the interactive model developed by Miles et al. (2014). The findings indicate that the LDII philanthropic movement operates on a macro scale, encompassing humanitarian initiatives, economic empowerment programs, and religious guidance. These efforts integrate an ontological basis (theological-philosophical) with an axiological orientation (socio-anthropological dimension) to promote human welfare and spiritual development. Furthermore, LDII members position themselves as devout servants who dedicate a portion of their wealth to benefit humanity, embodying the principle of ‘religious altruism’. This implies a commitment to self-sacrifice in pursuit of human perfection, as understood within religious tenets
