This study investigates how Egyptian online journalism handled the events of the January 2011 and June 2013 revolutions in Egypt, evaluating them from the perspective of peace journalism. The analysis was conducted using the following three criteria: The different ways of presenting and covering these events; the manner in which parties involved in the conflict were portrayed; and the language used to address these events. The study used content analysis, whereby the content of two newspapers’ websites (Al-Ahram and Al-Shrouq) were analyzed during selected dates in the years 2011 and 2013. The analysis included 762 news items. Based on the three criteria, the findings concluded that the peace journalism model was not being applied in online Egyptian journalism
