In this third part of our Business Ethics, the Environment, and Responsibility (BEER) Spotlight Editorial Series, we would like to discuss the growing share of data-driven research that falls within the scope of BEER.'Big Data'-as one of the main labels in this area-can be described in a variety of ways (Boyd & Crawford, 2012;Kitchin & McArdle, 2016).However, the 'three Vs' of volume, velocity and variety (Laney, 2001) are typically referred to in most of the definitions as: Big Data is associated with large amounts of data that require automated analysis tools (volume); that are sometimes created in real-time (velocity); that often range from fully structured to unstructured data (variety).Big Data presents a multitude of opportunities for management research more generally (George et al., 2014), and research into business ethics, the environment and corporate responsibility more specifically.As such, Big Data approaches have entered a multitude of BEER domains in a number of different ways.First, the presence of publicly available and digitized data sources can support and improve conventional research methods.Examples include environmental, social and governance (ESG) databases, allowing for more sophisticated insights into corporate non-financial performance (see
