This reflection article aims to demonstrate the degree of application of the so-called digital democracy in Colombia and from a qualitative, documentary and descriptive research approach, it will start from a definition of the concept and will review in the current literature the emergence and evolution of e-democracy as it is also called digital democracy in the global context and then in the particular context of the Colombian case. Then the main scenarios of application of digital democracy in Colombia will be described, its advantages, risks and possibilities, to finally conclude that it has begun to be applied particularly at the level of government services, but there are other fields in which digital democracy has not yet begun to be used and others in which there is the possibility of application but it is hardly foreseen, such as citizen participation mechanisms
