Smashball is a net game derived from volleyball that aims to increase children’s participation by focusing on the sport’s most attractive element, the spike. With its modified rules, techniques, and tactics, smashball promotes children’s success regardless of ability or prior knowledge. This article offers a knowledge packet for teaching smashball to upper elementary school children, including common content knowledge (CCK), specialized content knowledge (SCK), pedagogical principles, and an assessment rubric. The knowledge packet is also designed to meet the 2024 SHAPE America National Physical Education Standards. The goal of the smashball unit is to teach children the use of basic skills, offensive tactics, and defensive tactics
