I en utbredt fortelling om Norges pandemihåndtering heter det at vi lyktes eksepsjonelt godt takket være den norske befolkningens særegent høye tillit til sine myndigheter. I denne artikkelen tar jeg for meg en rekke eksempler som bidro til å skape denne fortellingen, men stiller så spørsmål ved hva den utelukker og forviser til bakgrunnen. Jeg påpeker at mange kommersielle og/eller utenlandske aktører som var av stor betydning for Norges pandemirespons, knapt var en del av den offentlige samtalen, og gir tre eksempler på dette. Til slutt diskuterer jeg hva som måtte skjedd for at vi skulle hatt en mer sammensatt, og dermed mer realistisk, fortelling om Norges pandemirespons
