Photovoice has been adopted as a pedagogical tool in various social work courses. This study explored: (a) how a COVID-19 photovoice classroom project helped social work undergraduate students better understand and reflect on the effects of COVID-19, and (b) how photovoice is a useful medium for undergraduate social work education. Secondary data analysis was conducted using 162 photos and narratives from undergraduate students’ COVID-19 photovoice projects. We used thematic analysis to analyze the photos and narratives. Two themes emerged: various effects of COVID-19 and cocreating knowledge through experience in a time of crisis. Our findings show that photovoice is a valuable medium to help students process this new reality and apply core competencies as burgeoning social workers
