Here Heike Behrend presents the works of two Ugandan photographers, Ronnie Okocha Kauma and Afanaduula Sadala, who have specialized in producing photo collages. The two have made these the sites of a visual recycling of images produced by the modern mass media. By localizing as well as domesticating the global flow of images they create a new space of wish‐fulfillment and imagination that allows their customers to participate in a world from which they are actually excluded
