The leaky female body is othered in the workplace. In historically rational, masculine institutions like the academy, leaks are ignored or hidden. In an effort to bring the leaky body back into the conversation, we use collaborative autoethnography to highlight our lived experiences of leaking in the academy, specifically regarding menstruation, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and miscarriage. We share these leaks to trouble the public/private, dry/leaky discourses which abound in institutions inviting others to share leaks rather than continuing to plug what cannot be contained. Our hope is that the academy can make space for and embrace leaky bodies
