This study examines the links between mega business event image, destination image, and participant behavioral intentions in the context of the Hainan Expo, one of China's national‐level business events, and investigates the moderating role of policy support. On‐site data from Hainan Expo attendees were analyzed using structural equation modeling. The results indicate that event image positively influences destination image, satisfaction, and behavioral intentions. Policy support shapes attendee image perception and plays an important moderating role between groups (policy‐familiar vs. policy‐unfamiliar). The findings further show that positive event images enhance Hainan's destination image and strengthen active behavioral intentions by participants. By conceptualizing policy support as a moderator, this study extends image transfer theory in the context of mega business events and clarifies the boundary conditions under which event and destination images translate into behavior
