Revolutionary youth. Socialist and avant-garde rhetoric, symbols and icons in the long 1980s in Poland. The youth culture of the long 1980s in Poland differed from the one known from the former decades as it was distinguished by the phenomena of overidentification with the authoritative discourse characteristic for the late socialism era. Exemplification of that can be the popularity of images and utterances of Lenin in the youth circles. The poetics of Polish youth culture texts, practices, and visual materials that made unobvious usage of the revolutionary symbols, icons, images, sayings, and rhetoric, comprise the subject of the article. The aim of the paper is to conduct an analysis of these materials regarding the concept of the radical imagination to ask about the political dimension of the re-contextualisation of the elements of revolutionary dictionary and iconography popular in the youth culture of the last years of socialism in Poland
