Oral, written and electronic culture mediums contain different ways of thinking, recording and transferring. While there is a memory-based recording format in the verbal environment, it is used as alphabet, sound and image recording tools in the written and electronic cultural environment. Language elements are one of the ways in which the experienced knowledge is transmitted between generations in the oral cultural environment, depending on the relationship that a person establishes with his social and physical environment. Proverbs from these elements are among the oldest verbal media texts. The knowledge systems experienced in terms of the continuity of society and culture have been carried by coding through proverbs. Proverbs reflecting collective memory are the bearers of folk philosophy and traditional worldview. It is possible to examine the value system of a society and its world imagination through proverbs. In the article, the phenomenon of time in the Turkish oral culture tradition is examined in the context of proverbs. The concept of time is considered as one of the main problems of philosophy in various dimensions. In this study, the subject of time is evaluated in proverbs around the concepts of objective time based on external world reality and subjective time shaped by human perceptions. In the article, proverbs about time were scanned using qualitative research method and content analysis technique. The data obtained were classified and analyzed as proverbs containing the concept of time directly, proverbs containing names of days, months and seasons, and proverbs with time suffixes. Accordingly, the concept of time in Turkish proverbs can be associated with the objective concept of time based on the reality of the outside world. The cycle and rhythm of nature is reflected in proverbs as a measure of time. In the article, it was concluded that proverbs, as oral texts of cultural media, convey their warnings, recommendations and decrees in an objective reality of time indefinitely and indefinitely between generations
