This study examines Vietnam’s evolving eco-tourism landscape from 2014 to 2024 through a bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer and Biblioshiny to identify current research trends and emerging patterns. A total of 392 publications were retrieved from the Scopus database using a Boolean search with keywords such as ‘sustainable tourism’, ‘eco-tourism’, ‘green hospitality’, ‘nature-based tourism’, and ‘Vietnam’. Bibliometric analyses (citation, co-citation, and keyword co-occurrence) were conducted to analyze the data, generating bibliometric maps. The results show a significant annual publication growth rate of 23.45%. Co-occurrence network and thematic map analyses identified key thematic groups, including management, economics, environmental control, and sustainable tourism. Thematic evolution analysis revealed shifts in research focus across three periods (2014–2017, 2018–2020, 2021–2024), providing valuable insights for researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders to advance eco-tourism in Vietnam
