This article aims to analyze the circulation of scientific productions published in journals by faculty members of music programs at Brazilian federal universities who completed their Ph.D. in Music at the University of Aveiro (Portugal) between 2000 and 2020. The research is based on a qualitative and quantitative approach, using scientometric techniques to analyze data on the articles published by faculty members who completed their doctorate in Aveiro, the journals, and the impact of these publications on the academic community. The results contribute to outlining a profile of the faculty members who traveled to Portugal and the dissemination of knowledge in the field of music, highlighting the insertion of these researchers in the Brazilian academic landscape through journal publications and the contributions of postgraduate programs in Brazil to the advancement of research
