The Israeli state’s territorial integrity have generally been associated with and attributed to the Zionist right. This article considers Israeli territorial nationalism from the perspective of the most radical critics of Zionism, Israeli Communists. Studying a plurality of cultural and political practices primarily from the early state period, ranging from ideological writing to street rallies and demonstrations against British and American officials’ visits, we analyze how Communists imagined a non-Zionist Israeli nationalism. Relying on archival sources we focus attention on how Communists adopted an anti-imperialist ideological anticipating later deliberations on post-Zionist Israeli identity
