This paper is devoted to a scene on the obverse of a series of coins with the legend ΣINΔΩN where a kneeling masculine figure with a bow and an arrow is depicted. New findings of specimens of well-preserved Sindian coins give us a possibility to consider the problem of the origin of this subject. Of key issue here is a demonstration of the ceremony of checking of the arrow. In the opinion of the authors, in this case, an episode is depicted from the mythology of the Sinds concerned with the ritual of investment of their chiefs with power
