In this paper, we turn to poetic (re)storying as a liberatory praxis and transgressive methodology in research with forcibly displaced people. Theoretically, the paper draws on endarkened feminist epistemology and poetic storying and (re)storying to illuminate how refugee women contest and defy gendered, racialized, colonial, and missionary refugee resettlement and education. In particular, the paper turns to poetic inquiry to offer new ways to examine refugees’ narratives and forms of livingness outside frameworks of victimhood, struggle, and pain. Through poetic (re)storying, the paper demonstrates how refugee experiences can be articulated and made legible outside normative research conventions
