Aspectos socioespaciais e territoriais dos povos e as escolas do Pantanal

The spatial dimension has been increasingly valued in social analysis, playing an essential role in understanding various natural and social processes. This study adopts a socio-spatial approach to explore the spatial and environmental factors that make the Pantanal a region of heterogeneous uses and appropriations. From this analysis, it becomes possible to understand the multiple territorialities that make up the Pantanal’s social and educational space, including riverside, quilombola, indigenous and migrant communities. The paper discusses how these territorialities face social and environmental challenges specific to the region and examines factors such as the distances, both geographical and social, that impact on the management and running of their schools, as well as the situations of social exclusion, spatial invisibility and territorial stigmatization that affect them. https://doi.org/10.21723/riaee.v19i00.1932002
