Bilinguismo. Português/Inglês. Alfabetização. Letramento. Abstract: This article aims to understand teacher practices of a bilingual school in the metropolitan region of Recife, in a 1st grade classroom, in order to identify the impacts in relation to the initial teaching/learning of two languages. Given that the demand for bilingual education has increased and is still a recent and limited field of study regarding the literacy process. We seek to analyze and reflect about the acquisition and construction of reading and writing skills in both languages (Portuguese/English). Thus, through field survey, we observe, collect and review the data, finding instructional practices that positively impact on the construction of learning in children who are exposed to learn both languages simultaneously.
