This article proposes a critical reflection on the mechanisms of subjection present in Brazilian culture, with a focus on the educational field. It connects national subjectivity – marked by historical oblivion, heteronomy, and the legacies of violence and slavery – with the implementation of conservative, neoliberal, and authoritarian educational projects. The argument is that the Brazilian subject, conditioned by this legacy, tends to reproduce patterns of submission, compromising intellectual autonomy. This process is intensified by initiatives such as the “Escola Sem Partido” movement, civic-military schools, and the management of education through digital platforms, which reinforce curriculum depoliticization and the subordination of critical thinking to market logics
