The article uses/studies the municipality of Pinhais to analyze the idea of cultural barbarism, of Walter Benjamin, and verify how we still reproduce the history of the so-called winners? The present research focuses on the construction of a review text, through the bibliographic survey of some selected fragments of the history and literature of Pinhais, that depict the vestiges of such concept. This study also utilizes the personal experience of the first author (Eduardo Augusto Vieira Walger) in the staging of the play A Vovozinha, written by Emiliano Perneta, to verify the perpetuation of the aforementioned barbarism. Finally, this review points to a reasoned about the Theater of the Oppressed (TO) as a practical hypothesis to be built in future processes that turn to those not cast as “winners”, to break with the praise of official heroes and their monuments
