Memórias De Normalistas Sobre O Ensino De Educação Física No Instituto De Educação Assis Brasil

The present text aims to analyze school practices related to the subject of Physical Education performed in the Teaching Course of Instituto de Educação Assis Brasil, city of Pelotas, state of Rio Grande do Sul), during the period of the civil-military dictatorship in Brazil, through the memories of teachers and normal students from the aforementioned institution. Since this research focuses on women’s memories – students and teachers –, this work is based on research on feminization, using authors such as Almeida (1998), Chamon (2006), Del Piore (2014), Louro (2014), Tambara (1998) and Vidal and Carvalho (2001), who discuss this category of study. The findings indicate that normal school students’ memories on the subject of Physical Education evidence existing corporal practices of control of students in that context
