Video based practicum learning is very important to further develop and understanding of science concepts for elementary school students. This researcher aims to determine the effect of the video based material transformation practicum on the understanding of the concepts of 5th graders students at SDN Duren Sawit 07 Jakarta. The research used a quasi-experimental quantitative method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The place and population of the research, were the 5th grade students of SDN Duren Sawit 07 Jakarta, totaling 56 students, divided into experimental class and control class. Information was collected using pretest and posttest question. This show that the typical value of the experimental class and control class using the N-Gain equation is 70,72% in the experimental class and 43,32% in the control class.
