The article is dedicated to the topic of animal protection and the role of women in this area of social activism. The author provides an in depth discussion of crimes against animals, with a focus on the involvement of women in illegal activities related to animal abuse. One of the key themes is the predominance of women in animal rights movements, which is a distinguishing feature of contemporary initiatives for animal protection. The article also presents an analysis of the participation of women among suspects in crimes under Article 35 of the Animal Protection Act, based on criminal statistics for the years 1999–2023 provided by the National Police Headquarters. The most significant finding from the analysis is the increasing participation of women in crimes against animals
