ABSTRACT: The present work is part of an investigative study, guided by the second author, developed in the field of education and based on the perspective of qualitative research with an (Auto)Biographic approach. We sought to analyze how the identities and cultures of the countryside/countryside emerge from the life-profession-education histories of the teachers who have been teaching for more than a decade at Colégio Santo Antonio, in the city of Ichu/Bahia. For the development of the study, Action Research was used, which made it possible to reach the research objectives. Here, the participating teachers narrate the formative trajectories, rescuing the memories, the formation paths and the constitution of the profession in the countryside. Their reports bring, among other things, the significant and symbolic aspects of “becoming a teacher”. In the reflective movement, made possible by the study, the teachers saw education as a transforming path in the unveiling of their identities and cultures, perceiving the intertwining of their life stories with the constitution of professional training in the countryside.
