In aging societies, long-term care is crucial for meeting the physical, psychological, and social needs of older adults. The demand for geriatric day care services has risen rapidly, making site selection an increasingly complex task that requires consideration of multiple indicators. Therefore, this study employs the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to construct a geriatric day care site selection model. The study focuses on identifying and prioritizing the evaluation indicators most critical for determining optimal sites for geriatric day care facilities. The proposed framework consists of five dimensions and seventeen criteria, with weights derived from expert pairwise comparisons. The findings show that “geographical location” is the most critical dimension, followed by “market size.” At the criteria level, the most important indicators are “core transportation hub,” “number of people requiring care,” and “regulations.” This study guides decision-makers in comprehending the critical indicators for geriatric day care site selection through effective resolution strategies for optimal site selection decisions
