The evaluation of the Pedagogical Residency Program (PRP) and the Institutional Program for Teaching Initiation Scholarships (PIBID) is essential for understanding the relevance of these initiatives in Brazilian educational policy. This study aimed to assess PRP and PIBID in the training of undergraduate students in Physical Education, exploring their experiences and perceptions through a literature review. This is a qualitative study based on research that investigated the perspectives of students who participated in PRP and/or PIBID. The results indicate that both programs strengthen teacher education by integrating theory and practice, fostering pedagogical and reflective competencies. Notable developments include improvements in communicative and investigative skills, as well as the strengthening of the professional identity of undergraduate students
