This article is the product of an interdisciplinary dialogue between two research strands based on extensive multiple empirical bases aimed at the analytical reconstruction of student mobilization: one at the University of Buenos Aires and the other at the Higher Institutes of Teacher Training of the City of Buenos Aires, during the period between the last civil-military dictatorship and its immediate aftermath. In particular, we investigate the place of the struggles against the violation of human rights by the dictatorial regime in the process of student reorganization and mobilization between 1976 and 1985. Educational institutions and the student movement were over-represented targets of state terrorism. According to CONADEP, more than 20% of the disappeared were students. Given this scenario, what positions and actions did student activism develop in the face of state terror directed against higher education institutions?
