Very likely lodging of tourists in farmhouses began at the end of the last century in Tyrol and in the english countries with Bed and Breakfast accommodation. Since 1960 leisure activities are adding to bare housing. They have provided a few farmers with some complementary gains. Today farm tourism is more and more regarded as one of the best established practice of agricultural diversification, facing crisis and decline of animal and vegetal production income. But it is coming into sight that tourism in the farms is a very contrasted activity, according to the type of rural space or the earnings of every interested farm.
