The aim of the Foundation's project, A new organisation of time over working life, which is reported here, 1. was to provide a more detailed theoretical and conceptual background to the increasingly relevant debate about the reorganisation of time throughout an individual's working life, and to broaden it out. 2. has been intended as an initial attempt to develop an appropriate response to pressing policy challenges at both macro- and micro-level caused by current demographic, economic and social changes.
