This chapter examines Holinshed's Chronicles' engagement with classical sources. It begins by considering some examples of the uses of antiquity as a repository of knowledge and a device for validating arguments and narratives. The chapter then turns to the account given in the Chronicles of Britain and the Romans, especially the narrative of the revolt of Boudicca (Voadicia).
