Large regional differences in sentencing are a long-known problem in Germany. In his work, the author examines whether and how Artificial Intelligence can be used to achieve an improvement. In doing so, he first embarks on a journey to other countries in Europe and the world where technical support is already in use in the field of justice and discusses constitutional and practical questions regarding its use in Germany. He then presents possible applications of Artificial Intelligence in German sentencing law and specifies concrete requirements for the implementation of such a project.
