Feudalism is a political, social, and economic system that dominated medieval Europe. In this system, the upper class administers the lands of the king and builds up a structure that facilitates communication between the king and the commons. Lords lease lands for cultivation and in return they receive military protection as well as tax and products. The lowest class is made up of workers, villeins, and peasants that are the poorest in this system. The right of each social class is in the rate of their ranking. Even though the lowest class is the most disadvantaged, they also have certain rights that distinguish the system from slavery.
