Story is one of the most powerful forms of making and conveying meaning. This story is the author's attempt to share with other readers his experience of two intertwined struggles: one with loss and one with the notion of self. Through a visually subtle readerly juxtaposition of the texts as one, the author weaves together the narrative of loss, a discussion of the postmodern suggestion of the death of the subject, and the difficulty of trying to situate the I in narrative research. It is a story of trying to make sense of experience through story
